Mallory Feng, MD
Psychotherapy and medication management
Dr. Feng portrait

It takes a lot of courage to seek help, and I’m glad that you are here. I imagine you are feeling many possible emotions: hope, skepticism, curiosity, fear.... I would like to invite you to explore these further with me. I want to learn about what things are like for you now, what has and hasn't worked for you in the past, and what hopes you have for the future.

I am a board-certified adult psychiatrist with expertise in both psychotherapy and medication management. I believe that the most important part of us working together is that you feel heard and accepted for who you are. I also think it's vital that you understand all treatment options, and are able to make an informed decision about your care.

I have over 12 years of experience working with people from many different backgrounds and with a wide range of challenges. I currently see patients located in Massachusetts through telehealth visits and in my office in Winchester, MA.

About Me

I completed college at Arizona State University, medical school at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine, and residency training at the University of Illinois Chicago, where I was a women's mental health fellow. I also completed a fellowship at the Chicago Psychoanalytic Institute where I received training in psychodynamic psychotherapy. I was previously an instructor in psychiatry at Harvard Medical School and staff psychiatrist at Cambridge Health Alliance. Before that, I worked for 6 years at Kaiser Permanente Santa Clara/ Mountain View.

Initial evaluation, 60 minutes
+

During the initial evaluation, we will discuss your current symptoms and functioning. We will also go over your past medical and psychiatric history, family psychiatric history, childhood experiences, professional experiences, and more. My goal during this evaluation is to truly understand your story.

I may recommend labs, studies, or neuropsychological testing. I may also ask for copies of your past records, or to speak with your previous providers. I may collaborate with your current primary care physician or OB/GYN.

Together, we will develop the best treatment plan for you. This may include medications, psychotherapy, lifestyle modifications, or referrals to other specialists.

Follow-up, 25 minutes or 50 minutes
+

During follow-up appointments, we will review your symptoms and functioning. We will assess the effectiveness of treatment, monitor for any side effects, and make adjustments if necessary. We will meet as frequently as necessary, which is usually once a month in the beginning of treatment for medication management. Psychotherapy appointments (with or without medication management) are usually 50 minutes in length, occur weekly, and may involve psychodynamic, CBT, DBT, or mindfulness-based interventions.
